Vote for me: I want to see a return to a true cooperative model, a membership driven organization for the members by the members, curbing the elitist trend.

What are the special attributes and experience that make you a strong candidate for Calgary Co-op’s board?

Fifty plus years of senior management experience has allowed me to understand where changes are needed and when they are not. Being a seasoned leader has led me to see the need for change within the cooperative that I so love. Experience has shown me that Calgary Coop needs to take its seat in the modern world. Being a champion of the rights of all people is the greatest asset I can bring to the Board to effect the changes that are needed. Calgary Coop lacks inclusivity in the boardroom.

Why do you want to serve on the Calgary Co-op Board of Directors?

A board of directors of a cooperative, traditionally, is supposed to be comprised of members at large, the common folk, bolstered by well-chosen professionals to join them. This is not the case with Calgary Co-op. My goal would be to see the board lobby the government to shore up the legislation to preserve what cooperative stand for.
