Your lights are up and the tree is a marvel. Every single ornament is hung with care and precision. Yes, it’s the most wonderful time of the year — festive and delightful Christmas season. Time for cookie exchanges, crazy fun crafts, spending time with family and friends in small gatherings or virtual.
However one chooses to spend the season, we all share one common thread: food and the love of cooking. Holiday entertaining brings out everyone’s inner Martha Stewart, from setting the table to placing the turkey. It’s also time for family fun. But with all of the hustle and bustle, everyone is always searching for extra time. Don’t you worry - I’ve got you covered!
Festive Snowman Cookies: these fun cookies take little time but are super yummy! PLUS, you have some help from the bakery department at Calgary Co-op. It’s a cookie recipe that takes approximately 30 minutes from mixing to baking (this is the top of the cookie). Then, a crazy delicious icing that is made from whipped Cal & Gary’s unsalted butter & sweetened condensed milk — yes, only those two ingredients make this heavenly icing (this is the middle of the cookie). Finally, from the Calgary Co-op bakery department, a ready-made chocolate fudge cookie (this is the base of the cookie). Place all of these together and let the festive decorating and fun begin! The next super fun and easy dessert project is espresso panna cotta. All of the ingredients, of course, are found in my favourite one-stop shop: Calgary Co-op. This dessert isn’t only easy to make, but plates like something in a fancy restaurant. I garnished with Cal & Gary’s chocolate coffee beans and crumbled Calgary Co-op Chocolate fudge cookies. This dessert would be a great companion to the pumpkin pie for your dessert offering. Get the recipe!
However you spend your holidays cooking, remember to keep it fun, festive and creative!
