Community has always been at the heart of everything we do. Our community needs us now more than ever and Calgary Co-op is here.
Calgary Co-op Cares charitable foundation provides support our most vulnerable including: seniors, children, the homeless and families at risk.
We are proud to support the Calgary Food Bank in its mission to work with the community to fight hunger. It is the first line of emergency food support for families and individuals facing crisis. Their collaboration and food support to hundreds of other charitable organizations works to address the root causes of food insecurity.
We are proud to support Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids, a program that works with community groups and volunteers to provide lunches to approximately 4,400 kids each school day. School staff help identify young students in need, then retirees, parent groups and local businesses help to make each bagged lunch. This program ensures students have the nutrition they need to achieve their best.
We are proud to support The Calgary Seniors’ Society’s mission to assist homebound seniors with traveling to and from their local grocery store. The Society’s Escorted Transportation program provides round trip transportation for a minimal gas fee, and the Escorted Shopping program pairs seniors with a volunteer who drives them to their local Co-op every two weeks, shops with them, and even helps them pack away their groceries.
We are proud to support the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter which provides safe and secure accommodations, food, clothing, referral services and counselling for women and families who are fleeing abuse.
WE ARE HERE TO HELP. Whether you a victim of family violence and abuse, are looking to support someone, or are a man looking for help, contact the 24-Hour Family Violence Helpline: 403-234-7233 (SAFE), email: email@example.com or text: 403-604-6689. If you are in danger, call 911.
We work with The Children’s Cottage Society to provide families staying at Brenda’s House, an emergency shelter for families experiencing homelessness, with nutritious meals. Designed by a dietician, meals at Brenda’s House are served to families in need, three times per day.
We are proud to support Calgary Meals on Wheels, a service that offers a Home Meal Delivery Program to provide those in need with freshly-chilled or frozen meals. This service promotes health and independence by offering clients access to nutritional meals every day of the year, delivered right to their doorsteps by our caring volunteers.
