Preparing Flavour Lock Oven Roasts

Roast beef is one of those special dinners that people love. They will be over the moon if you roast one of our Cal & Gary's Flavour Lock cuts; Eye of Round Roast Boneless, Top Sirloin Top Portion Roast, Petit Tender Roast or Bottom Sirloin Tri Tip Roast Boneless.

Here are a few tips for unforgettable roasts:

  • Place your Cal & Gary's roast in a shallow roasting pan (uncovered) and sear for 10 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 450°F (230°C).
  • Turn down the oven to 275°F (140°C) and cook as desired. Use the weight table as a guideline for cooking time, but we recommend a meat thermometer to be more precise. Cut, weight and shape all impact cooking time.
  • Take out of the oven when it reaches 5°F (3°C) below finished temperature and then cover with foil for 15 minutes. This draws the juices back into the roast.
  • Carve into thin slices. Serve bliss.
