Cut the hot dogs lengthwise in half, and then cut each half lengthwise into three strips.

Heat an inch or two of oil in a medium saucepan until hot, but not smoking (a scrap of bread should sizzle when dipped in).
3.
Cook half the hot dog strips for 1-2 minutes, until they curl and start turn golden on the edges.
4.
Remove with tongs or a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to cool. Serve with ketchup.
