Laurie, Travel Manager

I started in the travel industry in 1979 with Southern Frontier Airlines where, in addition to checking in guests and luggage handling, my tasks included radio communication with the pilots when they were landing at the small airstrip in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan!!   

I have remained in the travel industry since that time, witnessing its incredible evolution. After 30 years, the one constant for me continues to be my love of travel! My current travel favourite is cruising with Holland America Line to wonderful and exotic destinations including the South Pacific, Europe, Alaska, and the Panama Canal. 

I am conversant in American Sign Language.

I am a self-confessed cruise-aholic. I am a CLIA Accredited Cruise Counsellor and a Grand River Cruise Specialist. I have been in the travel industry for 15 years and has cruised extensively with most cruise lines including two European River Cruises and Royal Caribbean’s newest ship “The Oasis of the Seas.”  My motto is: “Where there is water, there is a cruise”, and I look forward to sharing my cruise knowledge with you.

I have been with Calgary Co-op Travel for 12 years.  My travels have taken me to many exciting destinations. I have backpacked through South East Asia, South America, Central America and China, and have cruised with Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line. I have also enjoyed all inclusive resorts in Mexico, Cuba and the Turks and Caicos. My most current experience was travelling to Nevada, California and Arizona with my 18 month old twins. I plan on travelling a lot more with my new family, and would love to share all my new travel experiences with other families.

I have been in the travel business for over 25 years, and have a well-rounded knowledge of the industry. Over my career, I have worked both as a leisure and corporate travel consultant, as well as  wholesaler for Central and South America. I have spent the last six years working in the online and call centre environment.

My latest travels have taken me to Bali, Hong Kong, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta.  I have also sailed on the Norwegian Sun to Alaska.

I am fluent in Spanish.
