When we wanted to see Russia a few years ago, we wanted to see more than just the two big cities (Moscow and St. Petersburg), but we did not want to pack and unpack all the time while traveling by bus or train. We had heard of river cruises, but were not sure if that would be the way to go. Rudie,  from Co-op Travel, Shawnessy was familiar with our travel preferences and recommended Viking. She was sure we would like it. Oh boy, that was an understatement! We loved it so much, that we booked another river cruise (Amsterdam-Budapest), followed by a 14 day river cruise of France.
Viking takes care of you from start to finish: all the travel information, you receive, is extensive and complete. Your accommodations are good, the staff on board pampers you, The food is excellent , prepared by chefs schooled in Europe, and enough selections to please everyone. If you have any dietary restrictions, you just inform them and they take care of it (Note: Viking is not recommended for people who want to lose weight). Drinks with lunch and dinner are included and the prices for drinks in the bar are equivalent to what they cost on shore. The Viking tour guides are very knowledgeable and always there to assist you, even if you are handed over to local guides. The majority of tours are included and some optional tours are offered for reasonable prices. There is also enough free time to explore on your own and a concierge on board can help you with making your own arrangements.
Rudie booked everything with Viking so transfers to and from the ship are included and Viking staff will greet you at the airport and assist you with the airport check-in if needed. Tip: we think it is worth to pay the extra amount for Viking Air Plus services. That way you have a say in the airlines you are booked with and you can limit the amount of transfers and possible avoid flying via the USA to Europe.

I would like to thank Glenn at the South Trail location for suggesting that my husband and I cruise with Holland America.  We embarked on the ms Zuiderdam on July 7th for a 7 day Alaskan cruise, sailing the inside passage.   

Both my husband and I loved the ship.  Our cabin was cleaned twice daily by efficient friendly cabin staff.  Our huge space included a large balcony with chairs and a table, a sitting area in the cabin and a bath with whirlpool tub, separate shower and double sinks.  Without a doubt, the fine dining about the Zuiderdam was a real treat.  We chose the early seating and were delighted each evening with gourmet selections with an offering to suit every palate.

It's a pleasure working with Glenn and I also love the fact that some of the money I spend on my holidays will be returned to me with my member return cheque. Now the big decision is 'where to next?"

Loved Air Transat. Very friendly and speedy service plus hot meal and snacks coming and going. Resort was top shelf! Separate lounge to wait for shuttle in and beer while waiting. Resort (Couples Tower Isle, Jamaica) was beautiful-great room (oceanview was nice), great service-everyone is very friendly, wonderful food and tons of activities. Can't say we did much (I read 3.5 books) but my husband did take advantage of the waterskiing. Would highly recommend. B.W.

Having a wonderful time in Puerto Vallarta! My resort is located in Mismaloya, south of the main town. There are two towers (and a lower central building which houses the lobby) that face the ocean on a small horseshoe-shaped bay. Behind the resort are mountains (with a number of homes clinging to the hillside) that are covered in rainforest vegetation. Each morning begins in a typical Mexican way, with a variety of bird songs (including my favourite – roosters – although where they fit in to this picture I haven’t a clue).

Yesterday I went on a whale watching photo safari. The boat ride reminded me of the midway at the Stampede grounds, with several “bonus” humpback whales thrown in for good measure. Needless to say, yesterday was a “good day” by most standards. There were two cruise ships docked at the marina – one Holland America and one Disney.

I can’t begin to summarize the time I spent visiting friends last week in the Ajijic/Lake Chapala/Guadalajara area, other than to say that it was absolutely amazing (and remarkably picturesque).

Just a short note to say thank you for setting up our trip. The resort in Krabi was just what the doctor ordered for relaxation and adjusting to the new time zone. The resort met our expectations and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the beaches of Thailand. Chiang Mai was exceptional; the hotel you recommended was right in the middle of all the action and everything was accessible by walking.
