IMPORTANT NOTICE For non-immigrant USA Visa Applicants

Please note that effective January 02, 2004, the Calgary Consulate will require all non-immigrant visa applicants to have an appointment!

Appointments can be scheduled by calling:
1-900-451-2778 (in Canada);
1-900-443-3131 (in the U.S.);
1-888-840-0032 (by credit card)
OR

at the website: www.nvars.com. In addition, all visa applicants 14 years and older and under 80 years old must apply in person - at which time, in addition to an interview, the Consular officer will capture a digital fingerprint of each applicant. It is expected that other consulates will follow suit!

Permanent cards mandatory in 2004

As of Dec. 31, Canadian permanent residents will require a Permanent Resident Card when returning to Canada by plane, boat, train or bus. The card replaces the paper IMM 1000 Record of Landing document. Application and information kits are available on www.cic.gc.ca or at 1-800-255-4541.
