A formal ribbon cutting ceremony took place in front of the store on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 and then was followed a few days later by a grand opening celebration complete with a pancake breakfast, live music from the band, Scarecrow, and other family entertainment.
“We are really excited to be here,” says Deane Collinson, chief executive officer for Calgary Co-op. “All of the residents have been really supportive of our decision to come to High River. We look forward to providing our High River member-owners with great service and high quality products at competitive prices.”
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me to live and work in High River,” says Chris Goode, centre manager. “As a resident for 34 years, I now have the chance to work with my neighbors and contribute to my community.”
High River residents can expect Co-op Wines Spirits Beer to open in September on the same property as the food centre and gas bar.
