Calgary Co-op Board of Directors Election Results and Board Officer Appointments for 2009.

March 13, 2009, Calgary, Alberta – The 52nd annual general meeting of Calgary Co-operative Association Limited was held on March 11, 2009, where the results of the election for its board of directors were announced. Incumbent directors Lisa Wise and Johanna Bates were re-elected to the board of directors, each for a three year term. Two new directors were also elected - Rick Smith for a three year term, and Myra Kormann for a one year term to complete the term of office formerly held by board member Terry Semeniuk, who passed away in November of last year.
The board of directors also appointed its board officers for 2009-2010. Stuart Cantrill was re-appointed board chair, Terry Geib was appointed vice chair, and Lisa Wise was appointed board secretary. Other board members include Barry Ashton, Johanna Bates, Alex Ingram, Myra Kormann, Rick Smith and Laura Sullivan.
“To be re-appointed board chair is an honour,” says Cantrill. “I will continue to work closely with all members of our board in representing over 434,000 member-owners of Calgary Co-op. I will also continue to provide my full support to our executive management team as they carry out their responsibilities for ensuring the continuing success of our prosperous co-operative.”
The board also extends its appreciation to outgoing board member, Randy Kott, for his many years of dedicated service to the board and the member-owners of Calgary Co-op.
