2009 AGM and Director Election

Three director positions will be up for election in 2009. If you would like to consider running for the board of directors, please obtain a copy of the Calgary Co-op Director Election Handbook, which will be available in mid-September 2008 on this website, and at all Calgary Co-op customer service offices in our food centres.(Click here to view the 2009 Director Election Handbook).

The 52nd annual general meeting of Calgary Co-op will be held on March 11, 2009 at the Carriage House Inn, 9030 Macleod Trail SE. AGM registration is from 1:00pm - 2:30pm with the AGM starting at 2:00pm until approximately 4:00pm. Information about the meeting and a call for proposals will be posted on this website in mid-September. Check back then for all the details. 

The Calgary Co-op board is comprised of nine directors. Three directors are elected each year, although this may change based on board vacancies.

There are three officers of the board: chair, vice chair, and secretary. Board appointment of officers, committees and representatives takes place each year following the annual general meeting. The board is based on a democratic structure and is committed to ensuring good corporate governance within the Association.

The board operates with standing committees: Audit Committee; Governance Committee; Member Relations Committee (this committee includes 12 members-at-large); and the Performance and Compensation Committee. Details of board activities for 2007 can be found in the  Annual Report.
