Guidelines for Requests

Requests:

In a world of change, appeals and education for support grow annually in number and variety. While recognizing the growing needs of our community we realize that we cannot support each group. Our Community Investment Management Committee yearly identifies key areas of giving dependent on the needs of our community and social issues. Currently, Calgary Co-op supports children and issues of health and wellness, social services and education.

All requests over $25,000 are reviewed by the Community Investment Management Committee at regular quarterly meetings. Small requests for community-specific donations, that are not citywide are handled at your local Calgary Co-op centre. Each Calgary Co-op centre maintains a budget to support charitable and nonprofit organizations within their specific communities.

Guidelines:

Calgary Co-op reviews each request as it applies to our Community Investment Program goals, areas for support and the following guidelines:

  • Groups must reside and be active in our trading area.

  • Preference will be given to registered charitable organizations and non profit organizations.

  • All requests must be submitted in writing.
