Calgary Co-op Announces Major Partnership With the Alberta Children's Hospital.

Calgary Co-op and its employees have been proud supporters of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation since 1988 on a variety of initiatives, including a new three year, $375,000 donation to fund the hospital's new Therapeutic Clown Program. This program sees Sparkle the Clown and Jumpa bring joy and laughter to children and thier families during their visits to the hospital. The old saying, "laughter is the best medicine" is certainly true!

Previously, Calgary Co-op completed a five year, $500,000 pledge for the construction of Emily's Backyard in the new hospital. This recreation area provides parents with a safe, supervised play area in which to leave their children while they are meeting with medical staff or visiting another child in the hospital. In addition to this, Calgary Co-op employees hold an annual campaign for employees-only to raise funds to support the day-to-day operational costs for Emily's Backyard.
