July 17, 1989 was my first day at Calgary Co-op. I was excited to work with an organization that has a very good reputation, is higly regarded in the city of Calgary and is a "small community" existing within a very large city; Calgary!

Calgary Co-op  is a comfortable, friendly environment, that has been a perfect fit for me. I branched out once, but was thrilled to return four years later!

As with any career, you get out of it as much as you are willing to put into it!

I first started with Calgary Co-op in 1980. I was still in school and several people recommended Co-op as a great place to work. 

I started as a wrapper and was promoted to cashier, then cashier supervisor, customer service office cashier, produce manager, temporary assistant centre manager and now I currently work as a center manager.

 It is a great place work!

My coworkers are very friendly, the schedules are flexible, the pay is really good and there's lots of chance for advancement.

Enjoy what you are currently doing and do it the best that you can!

At the time I was hired, there were not very many places that were hiring part-time school age staff. Calgary Co-op was considered a prestigious place to work, and having a job with Calgary Co-op put you in the elite category. 

There are always opportunities when you work for a company as diverse as Calgary Co-op. If you’re looking for a good place to work while you’re going to school, or if you’re looking to make a career, there’s something for everyone.  

Work hard at what you do, but make sure that you have fun doing it.
