Safety Leader for 2005

The Occupational Health and Safety Council recently honoured 420 Alberta employers, including Calgary Co-op, with Best Safety Performer Awards and Innovation in Health and Safety Awards for 2005.

These awards are part of Work Safe Alberta, a unique partnership between industry, labour and government that has reduced Alberta's workplace injury rate by 29 per cent since 2000. Under Work Safe Alberta, industry, safety associations, labour and government work together to reduce workplace incidents through awareness, health and safety education, and compliance efforts.
