Calgary Co-op collects for Canadian Red Cross Southern Alberta Floods Appeal

June 17, 2005 - The Calgary Co-op Food Centres and Gas Bars will be assisting the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in response to the Southern Alberta Floods Appeal.

Starting Friday June 17, 2005, all Calgary Co-op Food Centres and Gas Bars will accept cash donations at the till to support the Flood Appeal.

The Canadian Red Cross, Southern Alberta Region gratefully acknowledges the ongoing support of Calgary Co-op and thanks them for their assistance. The Canadian Red Cross is encouraging Albertans to help the victims of this disaster by making a donation.

Southern Alberta Red Cross has been working with the hardest hit communities since the onset of the recent flooding. With more rain expected this weekend, the Red Cross is expecting to assist more flood victims. It will continue to assist those with basic needs not covered by insurance or the government recovery program.
