Calgary Co-op Celebrates Grand Opening of Rocky Ridge CentreOctober 14, 2004, Calgary, Alberta - The Calgary Co-operative Association Limited will celebrate the grand opening of a new food centre today. The grand opening ceremony for Calgary Co-op's Rocky Ridge Centre will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14 at 1000, 11595 Rockyvalley Drive N.W. in Calgary, Alberta. "We are excited to be opening a new centre to serve our loyal members and customers in the growing community of Rocky Ridge, " says Ken McCullough, chief executive officer for Calgary Co-op. "This new location will serve the communities in the north west and offer enhanced services, greater selection and an attractive mountain ranch style centre in which to shop," adds McCullough. The new Rocky Ridge location includes a food centre, liquor store, gas bar and convenience store. The food centre has all the high quality products and services offered at all Calgary Co-op locations, in an attractive setting that boasts a view of the mountains. Offerings include an in-store butcher shop, bakery, top-grade produce, natural foods section, gravity fed bulk foods area, and pharmacy. The new centre also features a bistro with seating for up to 40 people. This new centre is part of Calgary Co-op's five-year strategic development plan to build new locations in emerging markets and serve our members throughout Calgary. "Rocky Ridge is a growing community and we want to welcome both new and existing members our new location," says McCullough. "The new Rocky Ridge Centre is a reflection of Calgary Co-op's long-term commitment to new communities across Calgary," concludes McCullough.
